Following is a letter from our brother in Christ, David Simpson.  This is a letter of encouragement to others who have been locked up.  David has been out of prison for almost two years now.  We met David a few weeks after he was released, he called us looking for some help and we have stayed in contact since then.  David’s desire is to start a ministry for others who have been in prison.  The name of his ministry is Comfort For The Comfortless.

Greetings fellow servants,

Don’t lose hope; certainly there is life after ADC.  First, you must remember your success depends upon your being faithful to obeying God’s word.  Overnight success is not guaranteed, but you can make it.  For example, I follow God’s leading by following my parole officer’s instructions.  I wore an ankle monitor for 90 days, but I also sought a church family.  I had to get special permission to leave the county, but all that was okay, because God blessed me by being faithful to His ordained authorities (Romans 13:1-2).

In August of 2003, God’s Spirit led me to a Spirit-filled church, Central Baptist Church in Mineral Springs, AR.  The people there opened up to me and welcomed me; they love me so much.  They did not care about my past, but I told them and they still loved me, accepted me, and welcomed me into their family.  They just helped me purchase a Ford van for the Lord’s use.  All of this took time; I had to be faithful to God and He did the rest.  I spent eleven and one-half years in prison but I am now getting along fine.  You can too, you must remember to give God His time to work and He will work wonders for you.  Now remember Proverbs 18:21, “life and death is in the power of our tongue”; so be positive, speak positively.  Quit bellyaching and start rejoicing because God is going to bring you through the trials of your life.

God bless you all and I hope to see many of you soon.  From a brother in Christ who prays and loves you.

In His Love,

Dave Simpson
